Off my easel the day before Thanksgiving 2021, this painting was largely (~85%) completed on location where it was painted from life in the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge of central New Mexico. Occasional overhead flights of Sandhill cranes, Snow geese, and varieties of ducks added to the seasonal warmth and joy I felt while painting. This painting is framed in a wooden warm-brown plein air-style frame that perfectly matches the painting tones and captures the autumn warmth of that day.
