This pastel on UART (a 500-grit sandpaper) board was painted during a week-long paint-out in and around Santa Fe, New Mexico in late April 2018. The group of hundreds of plein air painters spent a full day painting in the mesa tableland made famous by Georgia O'Keeffe, Ghost Ranch. All of the visiting artists just loved Ghost Ranch and its dramatic scenes and weather. This was my second plein air painting of the day and is a long view of distant mesas and mountains west of Ghost Ranch and features the wonderful clouds we painted under that day. It received a lot of positive response from fellow painters. The painting image is 8" X 10" and is in a gold-stained wooden plein air style frame of exterior dimensions of 14" X 16".
